To me
It looks like Aldi Wonthaggi have run into a bit of a problem with their new mass self-serve checkout introduction,

Hmm
Maybe every shopper from now on should purchase a bottle of alcahol and somply line up.

They at Aldi wouldn’t be able to cope with the massive wait lines this would cause and the large number of disgruntled customers in the checkout line up .,

The line would be so long and they in store have no longer got any way possible to actually serve the extra demand for the cash register isle as most of their old cash registers have now been ripped out completely gone.

It still makes no sense as to why all eight self-serve checkouts are card only.

Also as a bonus written on an electronic screen in big letters now is the statment that you are completely under servalence.
Go figure

At least they admit to it,

But what do they do with your digital identity once you leave the register?
Do they scrap it? or do they data match it up with your face and your dossimar next time you enter?
I bet they keep it, but that’s just an educated guess.

I didn’t do a proper check, but I believe they only have two cash registers left in the store maybe three.
So, these are now purposely left to cater to the people like me that only use cash.

As things go on soon, they and the other grocery giants may soon offer customers rewards and extra points for new customers using their self serve checkouts, that will include Woolworths and Coles, to lure as many more people as they possibly can away from using cash.

It also opens the opportunity for them to permanently reduce staff numbers.

Got to love our food shops making us do their job for them and taking real jobs away.

Customerless supermarket shopping is the planned future.
No jobs at all
Just like McDonalds no staff on site, them well on the way to achieving this goal.
