Whats that bug?
Hello everyone,
This one is for all my friends in the medical field ,
and its to identify the specific bug that somehow got into my system a week before the rose prick set it off to become the infection in my finger requiring two extensive plastic surgery’s in my left index finger.

Since this isn’t the first time that i have had a serious infection ,
Upon my entry to Bass Coast health emergency ward to have my finger checked out , I told them maybe look for Golden Staff as I have had few doses of that before and was maybe susceptible to it , so they took blood tests to work out what antibiotics they would start me off on ,
they placed a large syringe of clear liquid next to my bed and told me that they were the antibiotics to be given to me shorty,
But that didn’t eventuate and they took the syringe away and told me that it was incorrect , and they took more blood from me to be tested , before getting the correct antibiotic and hitting me up with a fair sized dose .
The hospital transfer was discussed and I asked them to go home to get my belongings but that was flatly refused and I was stuck now in lockdown at the hospital.

I didn’t think much of all this and I eventually dosed off only to more blood tests and antibiotics were taken and administered throughout the night till Ben picked me up for the hospital transfer early in the morning.
So this brings me to an interesting bit ,
On my discharge the nurse told me that I had an unusual and resilient bug in my system that they had identified from a tissue sample taken and identified from my skin at the site of the wound during my first operation.
She rattled off a name that sounded a bit scary that I have never heard off and unfortunately unknowingly I had brought this particular infection into the operating theatre there , but that issue had been dealt with already,
Apparently I had by their calculations I had this bug active in my system for the seven days prior to my rose thorn incident and it had been actually in the incubation stage.
She told me that I was now completely safe and that I was to fill my script at a late night chemist on the way home , I replied that I will do that when I get home in the morning.
She insisted that I do what I am told and that the Health Department would be calling me directly in the morning to discuss the case with me ,
Ok I have got it , pills were obtained and instantly started.
Home sweet home.
In the morning I got a call , from the Health Department and the lady on the phone then identified my bug as
INVASIVE GROUP A STREP.
I wrote it down to reference later
She told me that people that I was in Long contact with were also at risk so ,
I thought Blackie , Lee and mum and dad they especially were at risk because of their age,

I was to inform all of these people of the situation give them the option of following and making a direct health department directive to get a prescription for the only antibiotic that is effective against this bug and immediately take tablets , so I told everyone, Blackie decided against treatment , Lee got on it straight away and the surprise to me was my mums response ,
She said to me ,
This sounds to familiar with the bug you had in your arm years ago so I dont think im actually interested at all.
Well I thought thats all well and good for her but I’m more concerned about dads health and I don’t ultimately want to be the actual cause if his death, so I urged her to contact my elder sister and take advice from her.
So to top it off I scribbled down the details the lady gave me and gave them all the incorrect phone number, to ring anyway .
So now I decide to look it up and I read the basic information which starts with the warning notification by the health department starting any doctor or pathology department that come across this infection are to report it to the health department immediately,
This got my interest and I read a bit further and as I got further into the information I smiled at what I had .
But thought things come in threes but I’ve already had three of these as I have had staff twice, so I contemplate this situation while I pop down the antibiotics in recovery at home ,
Maybe this time I’m good to go .
You can look up information on the bug for yourself if you like and information can be found on the better health channel , or look it up on google as it looks to me to be an interesting read
Cheers xxx
