When we stop using just recently graduated University students and we pay them to give their ideas up for consideration,
In lots of government areas including  this practice at lots of local councils ,

We are in trouble,

As one local mayor explained the problem and the situation of the stupid decisions that they have to make gave him the shits.

He was the
honourable Des Biggs ,
He was well respected and mu mate and coincidentally my fibreglass teacher.

He told me that the Bass Coast Shire and all other Local Council’s  had  all just lost all of its independents when it came to decision making because they had employed a CEO and university grafuates into the shire .

Now when there was say a garden planned and trees to be placed in McBride Ave .
They could debate the issue from Scribbly gums to Norfolk Island Pines .

When it came to the vote they now all had to pass and approve of the motion of the planting of destructive and super expensive Norfolk Island Pines in the street.

I was against the pines and  so was the mayor.
He continued to ecplain to me the reason why.

Even though he had lots of experience with trees in the area over sixty years he cant go against someone’s proposal that had a qualification in the area.

So the ridiculous motion passed .
Those trees are a menace to our infrastructure.
They have cost a small fortune on repairs already and many more repairs will be necessary in the future .

The good bit is that they named a street in Des’s name.
So thats cool 

So everyone your Local Council is ran now exactly the same which explains a lot of the problems going on .

Gone is sensible.
