Hello everyone ,
I had Andy come over last night to check out the set up ,
but in particular to sus out the mixer for me and to tell me exactly what I need to get everything up and running.
I was hoping to run my Jamo 365 ‘s speakers for the sound production,
But Andy told me that those type of home stereo speakers are not actually suitable for my intended application as they have a completely different connection system than the mixers output.
They can be modified but it’s best to have the proper speakers with the correct connection system on them already in place ,
as they can be run singularly or together in groups with a daisy chain type of connection,
and its just all plug and play .
The mixer has it looks like to me 11 output speaker ports
So its a bit of a gem and Andy couldn’t believe his eyes .
Cool thats good news .
So I’m now on the hunt for a few old school thumping speakers and longish leads.
And i guess Im going to need heaps of old school leads also .
Andy was pretty impressed with the mixer and apparently according to him it has absolutely everything needed including some direct recording ports .
So I found my old tape deck unit ,
i just have to test it out to see if it even works and records and i happen to have a couple of old new , still wrapped up in the cellophane,
blank tapes ,
stashed away somewhere hiding out in the shed .
So thats a bonus .
Realistically I guess things will over time evolve into what it is.
My old school mate Kenners has contacted me and has kindly offered me the use of two monitors ,
for the set up .
Looking up from my kitchen table i spy that there are two professional Whalfdale pub type speakers in my kitchen sound system that would probably do the job .
But they are staying put .
So it’s now just get my bum into gear and finish everything off .
Jared has got my outdoor sounds going pretty good for now as its not quite what we were after,
but its danceable and pretty good.
When people use the recording studio in the future they will know how to hook everything up together on those set ups for me and what it is now is just fine .
So every minute I spend on this project ,
I dream up new additions and things for me to do to make it a great party area and a fantastic recording studio.
Well thats my aim
Cheers xxx
