Father and son

Hi everyone ,

today was a pretty interesting day

I took dad down to the block in the morning with the job priority for me for the day , was to till up the soil where the dirt heap was and to rake it out flat for the grass to regrow ,

I thought that’s pretty straightforward and I got the tiller fuelled up and out of the shed and a rake , and I headed over to the dirt patch ,

dad was busy over in the garden

We have both discussed the plan for this area a number of times but he has never really agreed as he has plans in his mind for a pumpkin patch there ,

So I started tilling the uneven dirt  and a while later dad came over and asked me to rake it all up into a pile in the middle,

I told him that  no I wouldn’t and I was doing what mum had asked me to do

He said that he has talked to her about it ,and then I asked  him what she said and he said I’m buggered if I know ,

He knew exactly what mum said .

Then off he went so I went back to tilling and then I then started raking it all out level ,

I saw that dad had got the mower out and moved a trailer and then he came over and mowed the around the edge of the patch ,

He must have been plotting in his head for a while , as then he sabotaged my work

and he drove the mower straight into the dirt patch and he  then used the mower deck like a grader blade to push and  destroy all of the flat dirt that I had made ,

I couldn’t believe it at first and I felt like telling dad to pack up and I’m taking him home , but I chilled pretty quickly ,

besides being upset on the other hand I thought I had to give him some credit for how crafty he had been In his planning and his execution of his destructive behaviour ,

So we just continued on until lunch  and we were definitely not really on talking terms , where dad stated that he wanted to transplant an apple tree when we went back

So I guess that I just took the position of not helping him much and I cleaned up some timbers and I let dad dig the new hole and to loosen the dirt around the tree

We then used the 4wd and a rope to remove the tree and tow it to the new hole , then we assembled and put a tin shield around the tree

And that was it for the day ,

I think now that I have finished and done my job down the block for now ,

Dads garden is pretty cool except he goes a bit overboard like for example his planting of sweeds

I keep asking him what he plans on doing with so many as I think there’s about two hundred

Maybe when they are grown we can give them away for people to bake or make soup

It’s his garden and no one can tell him what to do with it

Cheers
