It was on the 18th day of May
To the Wonthaggi hospital I made my way
For something very extra special was happening on that day
I was so nervous and excited to finally get to meet you after such a long wait.
Your mother would bear all of the pain ,and your arrival was certainly going to be great ,
A boy a girl , we weren’t exactly sure so we had left that all up to fate.
The moment finally arrived , and you came into the world,
Your umbilical cord was wrapped around your neck and your face was blue , but the doctor and nurse soon fixed you
I then had the honour of cutting the cord , to welcome you ,my special young man into the world
And I held you in my arms for the first time , there was never a prouder moment I’d ever had before ,
than in this special point in time .
We named you Ben and you were all mine , looking at you and dreaming of the future and slowly watching you grow up in time .
Now Ben you are all grown up and oh so fine ,
one day you might just have your own family , just like mine .
I’m so proud of you Ben and the man and person you are.
I wish you all the best for now and the future mate you deserve it and I’m sure that you shall go far .
