Brett Duffy I am unaware of the turbine at surf beach Brett and I wonder if it’s the same type as the ones that are on top of a roof at the end of Ullathorne Rd Inverloch , as for noise I would envisage that they would be reasonably quiet in relation to to the actual wind noise as ceramic creates so little friction where normal ball bearings would be so much louder and I would think they would be so much more quieter that the current type we have in service across Australia.
I also would like to see them made as close to 100% recyclable so at the end of their serviceable working life we can re use most of the components to assemble in new replacement units and then recycle the rest , making this project into as environmentally friendly as humanly possible
I haven’t heard one running yet mate as it’s only in a concept stage but I have applied for a government grant under solar and wind systems development so I will have to go through that with due diligence and hopefully receive a grant to engineer and develop the concept and I can’t wait for the day to not hear , one of those turbines in service spinning
I think it’s a bright idea
And it would bring Australia to the forefront of renewable energy and cheeper power prices without ruining any forests and the sea bed in the process .
Cheers
