I just switched on my phone and there first up there is a video of our beloved Prime Minister
Acca , Fat Tony ,
spruiking out happily on my screen and with an important announcement to us Australians about how cleaver his Labour government is ,
and see how they look after us the people now with them legislating and actually freezing the beer exice tax increases on draught beer ,
This is for you and me and for the first time in 40 years of every single succeeding government actually robbing us the Australian
drinker ridiculous amounts of money with alcohol taxation just to have a frothy with the boys.

On second thought
This announcement actually instantly when i thought about it ,
It raised a few concerns for me .
The first one is that this is an announcement of just only a temporary freeze on the alcohol tax from rising ,
Its not a tax cut ,
so beers are actually no cheaper,
and in fact they will still get more expensive with this token tax freeze ,
as the price of a pot will just keep going up ,
Keeping up with this government’s cost of living crisis price increases ,
and everything else around us is still slowly and steadily going up.
They have loudly announced that the freeze is for Draught beer ,
What about the rest of the beers Australian’s love to drink?
Or now do we have to simply relabel the rest of them now to block their tax rises ? ,
Like
Draught stout
Draught bitter
Draught pale ale?
Draught light .
They would be
All tax rise free for two years
The beer and cigarette tax laws in Australia need an urgent review,
The smokes situation has lead us all smack bang right into the world of organised crime and in fact the government policy has organised crime now right in everyone’s space down the street.
You can tell the non compliance store in your neighbourhood by the flames that are coming out the doors .
This is the biggest organised racket in the country.
You could say in hindsight that its a scam actually run and facilitated by the Australian Government and they don’t want to see their major cash in the back pocket $$$ cow,
to be stopped.
They get huge taxation from the sale of legitimate cigarettes and possibly that makes life comfortable.
Id like to see the taxation in the price of both alcohol and ciggeretes return to sensible levels and therefore the pricing should be low enough to finish off the chop chop market and therefore illegal trade of cigarettes coming in will have no market.
If the annual alcohol tax excise continues as normal ,
soon no average Aussie bloke will be able to afford a pot at all and its already so ridiculous now , and its slowly giving birth to another new upcoming underworld racket here ,
and thats bootlegging .
Im about to by a still and a homebrew kit and start home brewing and I’m now taking pre orders
Draught beer actually costs the same to buy directly from me as a bitter does so anyone looking for a Curly beer , a bottle of jin come just line up at the park .
The whole Australian government taxation system is a farce and needs an urgent overhaul.
Especially with the current Federal government alcohol tax policy ,
and the extremely high consumer price we are being charged now for buying any type of alcoholic drink at all in Australia anywhere .
Its now also just driving too many country and city pubs and clubs and our important macro craft beer brewers here in Australia to the brink of bankruptcy.
You guys call it competition.
I call it bad governance.
If one could describe visually the public mood about the tax on alcohol it would have to be a VB stubbie only because now with its higher tax you can’t actually afford a long neck ,
And also the public when it comes to the subject of alcohol tax
Are Very Bitter.
And with the taint of the tax that I’m paying ,
even drinking Draught also seems to always just leave a bitter taste in my mouth.
And as a teaser riddle me this
Why is zero beer sold at the same price in a pub when there is absolutely no alcohol excise applicable to that beverage?
As Its only soft drink.
