Hello everyone,
this is the next chapter of my Cairns trip. I had been given a house to look at to rent in Cow Bay , deep inside Daintree rainforest.
I was really excited to visit the Daintree because it’s really a special in a unique way, it’s the only world heritage listed park. I think that you can buy a house or a block of land in.
There is a group trying to buy all of the land that comes up for sale on behalf of Australian people to not be built on but there is plenty of residences already in living there.
So I collected Kenny loaded him in the car and we set off, we got to the bridge and the wait to cross it was forever. I got impatient as and really thought about swimming across the river to the other side so that shows you that I wasn’t thinking quite clearly , and in the end I’ll change my mind and then I patiently waited in my car.
Once we cross the river, it was one of the most beautiful areas I’ve ever visited. I was hoping to see a cassowary which is an extremely dangerous bird with an axe like helmet on its head they run very fast and they can kill a man. Unfortunately, I didn’t see any such thing but I did see massive speed humps on the road about 15 foot along and the full road width , like out of cobblestone in the olden days.
I was in a good mood.
It was raining and slippery but I put my foot down after the first few of these crossings cause they’re very slow to cross and I was in a hurry to look at this house.
So I started jumping these crossings and after awhile something strange happened, I saw a dog running up the middle of the road towards my car I stopped and open the door and jumped this dog. He put himself in the front between me and Kenny so I shut the door and drove On.
It must’ve looked comical as the pasta went. The further. We jumped harder. We all hit the roof of the car as we jumped and then landed back. We all just looked at each other with the thought. Oh well I ended up turning the car sideways when I hit the speed humps just for fun.
I thought it would have looked good on video.
We arrived a Cow Bay.
I went to the address. I knew there was no one at the property and the Real Estate told me to have a look so I had a look around. I thought it’s a nice place and it would suit me but it’s in the middle of nowhere but after that, we drove down to the beach car park .
There were people camps beside a river there and because I was still basically in my mind training, I decided to take a run on the beach with the dogs, I was in bare feet. There was no one at the beach on the left-hand side way up the beach. There was an outcrop of rocks That were high like a hill and I started running towards that. Rocky outcrop, I have run fast before on the rocks at cape Patterson and Harmers Haven.
At home as a training method. This was going to prove to be a little different as I approach the rocks I could see there was a sharp vertical ledges all the way up that looks quite formidable. I ran fast up those rocks till I reach the top and when I stopped my foot slipped I lost balance and I fell down the other side onto a ledge ledge. I put my arm out to stop me falling and it landed onto a rock shard , breaking my fall but cutting my arm just below the wrist right down to the bone.
Of course I grabbed it and put pressure on it. I made a quick check that my hand still worked and I slowly headed down the ledge to the beach, it looks so inviting. I had a swim not remembering because I’m from down south, that is the waters are infested with salt water crocodiles
But I escaped the swimming no problem , then it was a long drive to Mossman hospital where I went for assistance,
The nurse took one look at my arm and summoned the Dr he was a fairly old guy and he took a look and stated that I needed microscopic surgery to repair my tendon , I took a look and yes there was a small nick in one tendon and we discussed the method of repair and came to a stalemate .
The nurse kept popping in and she supported the Dr but I believe that it was a tiny nick and tendons don’t knit back together.

There was an old man in the next room in a lot of pain so j went in to visit him, he was moaning loudly and I held his hand and spoke to him about it’s alright to go and when I left the room he was silent , and the nurse came in again , I said that I’m going for a smoke and she said don’t you leave but I did just that but I had a first aid kit in my boot of my car that held a small bottle of pure peroxide , I opened the lid and tilted my forearm upwards the sky and braced myself and I poured in half a small bottle of peroxide .
The pain was so quick that it made me grimace but I then got in the car with Kenny and Buster and headed to the local footy oval where I had set up camp,
