Dylby Roo recycling project,
Hi everyone. I thought that I had finished the structural work on Dylby Roo
But unfortunately I haven’t ,
I remembered that ages ago a man from the Mornington Peninsula had given me a ski pole for my project,
So I dug it out of its resting place ,
held it in position and thought
Hmm
No
It would be too low and it wouldn’t clear the engine so i figured,
how to plug the hole?
Theres quite a few ways one can fix the hole .
Timber frame and sheet it with marine ply ,
Timber sleepers laminated together .
I chose layers of marine ply , screwed down with long stainless steel screws on a bed of chopstrand resin sarutated fibreglass mat .
So I got a sheet of marine ply 18mm the other day ,
as when you work on a boat marine ply is the same as normal plywood but the glue is waterproof.
So it pays to use the correct application on every boat job one undertakes .
So Blacks set up-a long aluminium straight
Edge so-we could rip a cut of a 100 off the edge ,
We did this twice .
Then Blacks cut them with their angles and I labled them ready for the next step .
The ski pole just needsa stay on it attached to the top of the teamsome and it will be all sorted .
Im looking foward to making my laminate and marrying it all in together and showing you how I have chosen to do it for the ultimate possible strength ,
So stay tuned
Cheers xxx
