Hi everyone,
Well today we reluctantly stepped outside this morning after a huge night of wind and torrential rain. Conditions were very poor,
But we got out the waterproof gear and hoped for the best.
So its the same drill as yesterday, launch the boat at the public ramp and then head in the car to the Tavern to pick up our numbered key tag ,
That key tag gets put in position showing the number on your brag measuring mat with every flathead you catch you photograph as evidence of your catch and then strictly promptly release.
Then we head off in the pouring rain and out through the rough , to start the day of casting.
It was a tough slog and Jamie bagged a 32 cm fish to start us off and to lift our spirits , it was it for a while but eventually Jamie struck again this time a fish @ 39 cm,
It had only just stopped raining at this stage around midday.
I was a bit dejected at this stage as my day had started badly as I stood on the front of Gregs boat traitor mudguard and it broke off, and i hadn’t got a bite yet.
So i was the chef once again and cooked up s feed of snags , once we got the small portable cooker fire under control,
it actually nearly went overboard, but we got it sorted out in the end .
The snags were great

and then we hit the fishing again ,
After a while Greg hooked up a big flattie and he brought it up towards the boat , i grabbed the net made sure that the handle was locked in place and got ready ,
The thought did enter my mind for a second, what if i didn’t net this fish it would be just like mine from the day before,
Hmm
Greg would go ballistic , so I took a deep breath and took the shot and lifted the net skyward., fish safely on board, it went 73 cm .
So a few happy snaps and a bit more fishing and we stopped at half past two and weighed in our photos at 3pm .
So Jamie and I went to the tavern to meet Scott to hand our key tag in and have a quick chat about the fishing .
So now for the long drive home
Cheers xxx
