I went to visit Max again today. He was sitting in his new chair happily in the lounge. We had a bit of a chat and said hello and I said hello to him and his wife , and then he wanted to show me something in one of the rooms but he ended up sitting back in the chair and talking about how he has been this week ? and then I asked him if he likes stories , as l know he barracks for a certain football team and I’ve written a story about the football in my life so I thought he might like to listen to it if I read it out allowed to him , so he said yes, he was quite happy enough to sit there and have me read it and when I finally finished reading that story and actually , it was a bit long , wasn’t it? But I find that sometimes you have to explain things more in depth and then it takes longer than first expected , to tell the story . But that one then , it was nearly a book , but Max really enjoyed the story and then I read him the pigeon story. He also liked that one .
That was enough of that then we went outside to have a look at his tractor, and there are store cattle coming but I already knew because Max’s wife had told me that they have 16 cattle coming next week he said 67 lol so I went to have a look at the cattle yards and I could see that everything was wrong , so I went in there and it’s like a jigsaw puzzle shutting gates for pens and where the cattle are going to run and where they’re going to stay . So we ended up mucking around with that then we got that set so the driver can just back the truck up to the loading race and away they go , so that’s one less worry for his wife now . We just went and also had a look at the old dairy. The original dairy shed was still on the farm and it’s interesting walking into what maybe a time capsule , and what treasures are inside within the ancient walls ? But on entry there was just some pieces of timber some barbed wire and a few new sheets of roofing iron stored in there . Then that was the time for me over , it was just gone but I spoke to his wife about Max‘s health and he’s been a little bit crook this week and he actually was pretty good today. I didn’t know you had a good days and bad days with Parkinsons. I thought it was always bad but he was pretty good with the shakes today and the hallucinations weren’t to bad either, and she said about Max’s dementia. How fast is that going? She said how it’s so different for every individual person suffering from it . Everybody’s different and some people , just go downhill fast and some slowly.
It’s good in one way now for me when it comes to Max ‘s hallucinations , because even though in conversation they are frequent , I don’t really notice them anymore and I just continue talking sense to the man hidden behind that part of Lewy body dementia.
Because for some reason he can still hear me , even though he may just be in Perth in his mind , I sort of trigger him and he comes back to the moment pretty quickly.
So we are onto it
So I say goodbye to both of them and I’m happy to be seeing them again next week and that was it for the day.
But I am right I’m becoming good mates for Max because it’s easy to love a great person , So that’s the end of story for this week bye for now
Cheers
