Mother father & son.

Hello everyone,
Today was a bit different as I drove mum and dad to a medical appointment for dad , in Monash Hospital in Clayton.

Because Im usually hopeless at navigating around down there , even with google maps .
So I thought Id be smart and leave really early so it wasn’t going to be at all stressful for us in making his appointment.

So I put it my phone on google maps and I ran  a search for Monash Clayton ,
pressed go and we were away.
Mum sat in the front and dad sat in the back.
I thought It was pretty good , as I got a lot of one on one talk with mum , and our conversation made the trip time pass quickly.

So we arrived at Monash  by the map , it looked a little bit weird and fancy sort of buildings I could see as I parked the car and we got out and walked in to  find the main entrance.
It didn’t take us too long to work out that we were actually somewhere that maybe I should have gone to , once upon a time.
Turns out that were actually at the university.
Oops
Bit of a giggle and I put the address of the hospital into the gps and off we go again.

So just like normal ,
my maps gave me the complete run around,
Down side streets, wanting U turns, doing blockies .
I stopped and restarted the map  three times , I was getting frustrated by the end , while then I said to mum I’m glad we are early , mum , she said no , actually we are not we are running late.
So now the pressure is on.
Bit of a miracle just happens and  the hospital just at that instant , appeared in front of us popping out of the concrete jungle abyss ,
like magic.

I dropped them both off at the hospital entrance and then I parked the car in a multi rise carpark , but I had to go up to the top of the level two to park as it was completely full of parked cars right up till there .
I parked the car and walked back to the other end where the elevators were .

So I met mum and dad at the waiting area and chatted to the lady sitting opposite me and in no time dad was done .

So of course leaving they waited for me outside the hospital entrance, to pick them up , while I went and caught the elevator upwards in the carpark and Im absolutely sure that I pressed the level 2 button.
So when  the elevator doors opened I just walked all the way to the end where I earlier parked and I  couldn’t believe what I saw .
No car .
Oops wrong level.
Elevator ride no 2
This time instead it took me to the ground floor
I thought bugger , so much for being quick .
Eventually I picked them up and we decided to to grab some lunch , after I picked up some fibreglass resin in Dandenong.

This is where it gets a bit funny.
First , in the Cranbourne shopping centre, dad and I both went to the toilet and he was still in the cubicle when I was done, so I waited in there ,
sort of like I was loitering , leaning back on the wall.
Next second the door flies open and there is standing in front of me the janitor with a big heavy mop in his hand and a funny expression on his face.

I looked at him and I said don’t  worry mate its not what it looks like I’m not really here to pick up men I’m actually waiting for my dad.
We both burst out laughing.
It was pretty funny.
But it sort of gets even funnier.

We got a feed in the food court , and dad had eaten about half of his when he asked mum of she had a takeaway container to take the rest home .
I asked him if he was too full to eat it ?
He then said no ,
I’m still hungry.
I suggested then to him that he eat his lunch , so he did .

Now we were leaving the shopping centre , something happened that reminded me that I do actually believe in miracles and that there’s still some hope for me yet .

So we are walking along and I was talking to mum about dad when she told me that unbelievably he is at the minute actually frisky ,
and he has been that way now for two nights, and its only when he has a drink.

I started laughing and said to her dont worry mum ill fix him and  when his goes to Rose Lodge ,
i’ll bring him in a cask of wine every week ,
He’ll  have a ball.

Deep down I smiled and thought
Hmm
The old man is nearly ninety,

There hope for me yet

Cheers xxx
