Parking problems

Hi everyone , yesterday was both a bit stressful and interesting ,

I had an appointment at 11.15 at a hospital in Mornington . I arrived at the hospital in plenty of time around 10.50 .

I drove towards the entrance and ticket booth and i thought I saw the driver of the car in front just tap a credit card on the box and the boom gate open

so when it was my turn I tapped my card the gate opened and then I drove into the small parking area.

There was about eight other cars driving around all waiting for a vacant car park

I thought why do they actually let cars in at all when there are no available parking spaces,

while I drove around and around the small area hopelessly waiting for a car park , and this continued on untill about 5 past 11 and I started to panic that I was going to miss my appointment altogether and then I contemplated on leaving the car park ,and trying to find a park on the side of the road somewhere and walking back to the hospital when then suddenly I got a break , as i saw a man heading to his van on the bottom corner of the car park.

So I positioned myself on the left hand side of the road and I waited

And I waited but nothing happened the van didn’t move for such a long time that I was now late for my appointment and unsure what to do ,

The cars were building up behind me and in that instant I decided to go and see the van driver and ask him if he was going or staying.

I then turned off my car and got out and walked over to the van and up to the drivers door , I was about to knock on the window and ask him and I saw that the driver was on the phone so that explained it so I just went back to my car and waited again

I think that the cars waiting behind me were getting a little cranky and impatient so I waved them through to the corner around me . By the time the third car drove around the corner the reverse lights finally came on ,

on the van ,

All of a sudden the third car that went past me stopped behind the van and let the van out and then they started to go into the car park

Honestly I wasn’t that happy and went to bip the horn but I forgot it was broken

So as the car entered the carpark I wound down the window and I guess I yelled out very loudly something like

I’ve been waiting for this carpark

I guess at the time I also thought if they take it I would have knocked on their window and given them a piece of my mind ,

But I think that they must have heard me and their reverse lights came on and they vacated the carpark and then I pulled in fairly stressed out and now running late .

In hindsight I guess that if circumstances were a bit different that the situation could easily have turned into road rage ,

I’m glad it didn’t escalate into that , especially just over a carpark.

So I then left the carpark to go the hospital but when I got to the carpark entry exit area I saw a car leaving the carpark inserting a white ticket to exit.

I thought oh no

I think that I was supposed to press the button and get a ticket , now I’m stuck in the carpark and will have to sort it out after my appointment.

So I then had to find the right place in the hospital and in the end I was only about five minutes late

The nurse handed me some forms to fill in and then I realised that I had left my glasses in the car and I had to go back and get them before filling in the forms

By the time they called me in I hadn’t filled in many of the questions but they didn’t seem to worry about it and the procedure went ahead .

Afterwards on my way out I went to the main reception desk and explained my problem in the carpark regarding the no white ticket problem , the lady told me that I can just tap myself out , as their machine provides both options

So then I was one tap away from freedom,

And then on my way home

Hmm

I think every time I go to Melbourne it’s interesting.

Hmm

Maybe I should go more often

Cheers
