Hi everyone,
I ventured out tonight to catch up with an old friend at my favourite local watering hole ,
The Ocean View Hotel in Kilcunda or more affectionately known as the Killy Pub.
There are brand new local owners Brett and Paula that have taken on the challenge to bring to you the best pub in Victoria.
They haven’t been the publicans for very long but the great changes and improvements and personal touch that they have already made to the place for your enjoyment are really quite noticeable.
The first thing you will notice when you arrive is that the awesome view of the ocean from the front deck has now been fully restored back to be at its best ,with the complete removal of all of the tall plants from the boundary garden that formally had blocked most of it.
So , when you walk in the front door the first thing that catches your eye are the new dining tables and chairs , they are nice and of course that the old familiar bar is still in the same place ,
so then I noticed the general overall cleanliness of the premises with it being recently completely freshly painted interior , and the decor decorating it along with some really quite magnificent and unique surfboards adorning some of the pub walls .
Also now , on the opposite end walls of the pub there are now two large tv”s offering continual visual sports and entertainment to the guests .
There are also some quite smart looking round barrel tables and chairs around the inside fireplace area , and the old tired couches are gone,
and of course the favourite old pool table is still sitting in its place .
There are also extensive works now going on outside , with the yard and gardens being renovated , landscaped and cleaned up in the lead up to the busy season.
So in the last pic i took was when nature had called ,
I was pleasantly surprised at the renovation that had been undertaken in the men’s toilets , the picture that’s now up in place on the wall is totally awesome and the toilets are really pleasant and also kept squeaky clean .
I wondered then if the women’s toilet had also undergone a renovation from the back in old days when it was a big chalkboard,
but I wasn’t game to look just in case someone saw me 
So there has been plenty of of other changes made to the old pub including a new beer system installed at the bar , giving everyone a lot more choice than just four beer taps and a selection of a wide variety of drinks on tap ,
accidentally I think that a pint of Guinness happens to make a great choice .
So I would have to recommend that if you want to maybe have a drink in a fantastic pub with great friendly atmosphere and good old country friendly service ,
Then you should call in on Brett and Paula for a visit ,
as you just can’t go past the Killy.
I believe it’s trading days are Thursday to Sunday currently and the plan is 7 days a week over the summer months .
