And so it begins,
After dropping of Rex at Matts for the weekend then I made.my way down to Gregs place late yesterday afternoon, in Dingley to pack up our gear in to his boat ,
which is s 5.6 mt Barcrusher
centre console.
His brother and our other teammate Jamie was also there .
We went over the rods and rigs and Gregg attached the lures and soft plastics , ready for our practice day today , Friday.
Im hoping its much better fishing than it was at last years competition, where on the practice day we only caught one flattie for the whole day between us , and just four flatties on the comp days .
This year Id like to see us fill our score card early , which is to place each fish caught on the measuring board and take a picture of it with your camera and once you record and measure ten fish , thats your teams bag ,
then you can from then on up size your bag by catching a larger fish than your smallest recorded one , and them replacing that smaller fish on your score card .
Every single fish must be released and returned to the water unharmed as soon as practicable, as its a catch and release tournament
and a strictly no bait competition.
The first year when the organisers asked me how i went i said that not bad and that we cooked up and ate all the smaller ones, they were horrified until they worked out it was a. Joke .
So when all the jobs were done we went out to Mordies Pizza in Mordialic ,
the food and the service here , was incredible, we go there for tea
before the comp every year , usually with friends of Greg and Avrill and this year it was Jodie any Binny, so i had a lovely time with great company and i had a beautiful pizza .
So it was back to Gregs to hook up the boat and to have an early night to get up at the ungodly hour of 4 am ,
Throw our bags in the car and hit the road , for the long trip to
Lakes Entrance about a four hour trip.
So im full of expectations and anticipation for this years comp, last night i saw online at Reel It In that the comp it was almost a sell out and there is only five spots left ,
i hope its a sell out so its s bigger competition.
So we will be on the water there by nine, this morning on our practice day , looking for the areas where the fish are in numbers, testing out all the gear and ill be practicing my casting techniques for the first time in a year .
So hopefully no woodies for me which is your lure or plastic are actually out of the water and caught up a tree

on the bank.
I also looked up the fishing report from
lake Tyres last night and there have been a number if big lizards caught this week ,
So its all systems go
And its 5am so maybe a snooze is in order ,
Cheers xxx
