Rubbish

Margaret Donohue it’s called Three Bridges by all the old school Wonthaggi locals. Many kids used to ride their bikes out here fishing rod in hand to  go fishing for minnows back in the day but not now a days . It’s mostly older men now that  fish it for eels sometimes and some other people come out and do burnouts in their vehicles on the concrete bridge and the short ramps of bitumen.

The river is constantly always having all sorts of rubbish dumped in it , a lot of it is recyclable and  is actually free to dump at the refuse centre which it is such a shame and ironic that some people choose to just dump it , illegally,
one would guess this is an economic decision on their part
and I guess that’s mostly the fault of the Bass Coast Shire with its decision to revoke the three free tip passes system some years back as under that system most of that rubbish would then have been dumped at the tip where it belongs for sorting and recycling instead , but it seems that It’s financially cheeper for the shire  to collect it from the roadside and to fish it out of the river ,
but it’s certainly worse for both the eco system and environment .

I guess the only thing that could possibly fix the problem is big brother ,and for the shire to install remote cameras , or on second thought maybe they can give the ratepayers back at least one tip annual tip pass for green waste or Refuse
Is that a load of rubbish
Or is that too sensible ?

Cheers
