Hello everyone  
Just now in the nightly news , I just heard the Australian prime minister
Anthony Albernese make the bold statement  on tv that tariffs are a penalty on the country that issues them , 
I assume in a bit of a off the shoulder dig at Donald Trumps One America policy.

I would love to hear Anthony explain his statement and his answer including the reason why he believes this to be true explained clearly  to all Australians,  as currently I’m a bit confused.

Because it’s in my belief and obviously also in Donald  Trumps ,
that trade tariffs actually do the complete  opposite and they protect your countries industries and our workers from being uncompetitive against subsidised cheep imports being just dumped by other countries on us and threatening the livelihood of our businesses profitability.

I think that while he is at it he can also give everyone in Australia an explanation from him what the reason was exactly that a few short months ago just before the time that the American presidential election was held ,

Jim Chalmers publicly announced the dropping of over 500 trade tariffs immediately that were actually in place as industry protection and they were actually protecting  our ever dwindling and vulnerable Australian industry. 

Jim stated at his press conference a few months ago this following announcement and along with a  sly smile ,
and I quote him as stating that dropping those 500 tariffs was a good decision for Australia,
I would love to know just how?

A few short weeks later Donald Trump was elected and he did the exact opposite thing to Anthony and he is now busy introducing trade tariffs to every  single country that trades with America , to stimulate economic growth and to try and bring some financial stability to America.

Apparently we here in Australia are currently placed on a low USA discounted flat rate of a 10% tariff but maybe
Mr Trump wont like Anthonys recent comment and he may just  decide to  raise it , because he can.
This would be a disastrous outcome for our country.

And  I believe that Anthony is compelled actually man up on this issue and give everyone that lives here an honest explanation to this tariff situation as he apparently is our country’s leader and thats part of his job.
