It was Vouls , believe it or not it was In a tattoo parlour , whilst I was in Dandenong hospital getting operation after operation and getting my arms fixed up , he was the owner of the Crazy Cool tattoo parlor , and i think he was the leader of the protests held at the time in Melbourne against a world leaders summit,
it was called. i think G7summit . But it was big and lots of violence betweet protesters and police.
But it was sort out of control on the streets . The protesters were quite well organised .
I got talking to him when we first met about lots of things and even the problems facing the world at the time , then we just clicked and became mates .
He was a big man and a formidable fighter on the streets ,
But unfortunately we couldn’t even spar as i had no arms ,
but we just chatted instead and when i needed help he stood tall and helped me out as best he could.
I instantly fell in love with the design on the wall and he told me that he had drawn it and he had it tattooed on his body and no one else.
I asked him if it was alright if I could maybe one day to the same he said knock yourself out curly , but you make sure that the head of the dragon faces out ,
so it will lead you forward into the future with might and strength and courage .
He would have put it on me but because i was on antibiotics and i wasnt well physically that he said the inc wouldn’t take so i had to wait , it was such a long time for me waiting it seemed like forever for me to wait to get it applied .
The outline was done for me at the Cowes tattoist .
I wasnt that impressed with the look of it at all so i visited my local wonthaggi tattist Stuart Smart .
Now Stuie is an old school tattoist who personally to me I wasn’t quite sure of his work , as it sorta looked like smudges to me .
I showed him my dragon and he smiled and said no worries ill fix that up fot you , and ill shade it for you Curly ,
So i hit the chair and he worked some real careful needlework magic , i held so perfectly still as always through the pain so it was all up to him , and it came out just beautifully.
So Stewie then became my main tattoo artist , he did a re colour on a tattoo on my shoulder blade and put my Sang Roc international judo and jujitsu badge on my left arm top , before he took on the job of my dragon on my forearm ,
its an intricate scelatal two headed dragon that my sighwriter mate Boat did for me out of his minds eye, it even comes with a hook for the tail as i was a dogger and rigger at the time ,
i wasnt too sure about that drawing and the finished product at first ,
so i stuck it in my draw for later on until i met Stewie ,
I showed him the detailed drawing and he was pleased to take it on .I think it was his finest work.
So he did that design on my left forearm, and he shaded it the next week ,
he then told me to wait and let it settle and if there is anything he missed he would fix it then in a few weeks,
Unfortunately Stewie passed away that week , and there is a fault with it ,
but it doesn’t matter as it on one head it has a missing tooth , and as this tattoo is a historical picture if me , I have a broken front tooth so that makes Stewies picture absolutely perfect.
So regarding my gold Celtic Viking Warrior dragon design I took photos in the studio of the design and put it on my computer and i put it a way to when I thought that i may deserved to wear it.
He told me it was mine to do whatever I want with it.
So I have a dream. i’m in the future I get to to share it , with some friends of mine and they get to ride together in that brotherhood.
The patches are good to go Paul at Logos Unlimited has it all on file and at the ready .
In my dreams, I see that day is close now, and I can’t wait to share and yo see other people wearing my design.
On that day, I will know for sure that then the future is now goung to be a much better place for everyone, including my friends riding bikes .
So my mums reaction to my forarm tattoo with the outline applied at dinner one night she was a bit disappointed and you can tell that man that he has ruined a perfectly good arm ‘,
I told Stewie he got a laugh out of that,
I told mum that i do have a few more tats than you havent seen mum .
I guess that i should have told her that they were like adult scout badges .
What i didn’t tell her was that over in Thailand
there is the most incredible man that i have met as a true leader of his people,
has a one off special Thai dragon in the draw to apply to my right forearm traditionally with a bamboo rod .
Its funny thing is he asked me the other day if i can take him fishing in Tiger Ben
Of course i said yes ?
Hmm
Mayney i dont. have to go there , to collect my inc , maybe he is coming to mr and on his way .
That would be cool
