Treaty

Well that was an interesting and lengthy read and it’s quite involved in the process to reach Treaty within Victoria , it looked like mostly it’s the state  parliament dealing with five seperate indigenous tribes ,that have I’m guessing intent to claim an area half the size of Tasmania under the treaty and native title law.

My first thought after reading this section was isn’t it a Treaty for the whole state ?
, not just the Wimmera district ,
So one would have to question just what other parts of Victoria will be actively pursed  by different tribes under treaty once it is ratified by parliament?

Also shouldn’t the negotiations on such an important matter be published for public scrutiny, as public scrutiny is a must as everyone has a vested interest in the outcome.

I wonder just Where did the government get the figure that  and I quote the dialogue , that a labour government minister has stated in the document that 62% of the community supported this movement.
Is this for real ?
Where does that figure taken from ?

I have never really heard about the treaty negotiations going on in Victoria but maybe I have had  my head buried in the sand .

The government is voted in to office by the people , to represent all of our best interests and  things like this treaty are in our interests and the outcome will have lasting ramifications for everyone in our state  especially in regard to land title,.

The government and its ministers actually owe it to their constituents for open and honest dialogue as that’s their job and if they don’t understand that they shouldn’t be there ,

For too long Victoria had a lot of secrecy surrounding  all sorts of deals regarding the Daniel Andrew’s government ,
Now that he is gone we should expect a more transparent government to run this state .

I always thought that Treaty was something for the federal government to preside over, that way we would all be on the same page with uniform Treaty Laws for every state ,

The way the Victorian effort reads it’s going to be a bush picnic with every state having different laws .
So come on Australians federal parliamentary  people ,
Might be time to pull your finger out get together and sort out  a fair treaty for everyone .

I realise that Anthony Albanese had wiped his hands of it and given the responsibility to the states
But he needs to reconsider
a lot of things when it comes to the indigenous Australians

Cheers
