Hello everyone
Like every single job that i undertake it seems to just grow into more jobs ,
What started out with me fitting Tiger Ben to her new trailer has ballooned out to a full on tidyup
So i have given her yellow belly a nice hard cut and a polish to come to restore her original shine .
The good thing with original gelcoat you can cut it back as much as you like and not possibly ever cut through ,
So every time she is dull
i just hit her up with my buff ,
You can use wet and dry sanding if necessary
If the pigment in the original gelcoat is too far gone ,
like a red turning to white
no amount of cutting will restore that ,
In that case you need to sand ,
seal and then refinish the surface
As you can see in the pics that i have masked up the black windscreen frame strips ready to freshen all of that up with a coat of gloss black as well
Ill just brush finish that .
I also removed the rest of the radar antenna unit and wiring loom .
I kept the loom as its like nine core wiring and a long length
I had it rolled up inside the gunnels hidden away it used to fall down in really rough conditions.
Soon it will be time to put in some electronics
Depth sounder
Radar
Ship to shore
And i just remembered the stereo isn’t working so i best fix that .
My worst subject has to be auto electrics
It just never seems to work for me .
Now I guess now after all this Royal treatment ,
Tiger Ben will be fit to carry a real live princess
One that baits her own hooks of course ,
So once its done ill give here a quick polish and a check of the safety equipment and life jackets and flares
and we will be off like a lizard drinking out into Bass Straight
Where lots of people need Quells ,
to negate the sloppy swells
On our very first voyage together she is certainly in for a treat .
As we turn cruise our of port at five knots and enter the main channel towards the bridge with
the sound of Queen now ringing in our ears at full noise ,
as I push down the throttle to absolutely wide open
and its best to hang on ,
as Tiger Ben launches itself in no time straight up onto the plane and is now barreling fast towards the Philip Island bridge
The wind through the open cockpit window is making your vision blur and you cant focus.
Your adrenaline is pumping through your veins
Freddie Mercury is belting out my boats significant song
Don’t stop me now .
And im still day dreaming of the future again ,
Even in company
And we are free in nature and lots of times she puts on a special show for me
We are both jagging big flatties.
I bags she cleans them
Its the same experience for everyone that comes out
It sort of became a really fun habit
Hmm
Lucky I’m a dreamer
Best get back to the boat then.
Cheers xxx
